“THE NON LINEAR NARRATIVE: USING NON LINEAR NARRATIVES IN CONTEMPORARY DOCUMENTARY AND PORTRAITURE PRACTICE”
MONDAYS SEPTEMBER 11 – OCTOBER 23, 2023

This course will look at long-form contemporary documentary photography and portraiture which sits at the confluence of art. We will explore linear and non linear narratives and how these can change and impact an audience. How can research from many areas from poetry, writing, music, archives and photography can impact our process. How this research can bring about serendipitous connections to your work and expand its meanings.

How we can make Portraits that at first glance seem ordinary but become extraordinary using practical exercises that impact the result.

The class is suited to photographers with a project already in progress or one that is in its early foundations who can benefit from exercises that will help develop their ideas and think outside the box in their approaches.
