LORENZO VITTURI: “TRANSFORM AND BE TRANSFORMED: A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE STUDIO AND THE URBAN SPACE”

REGISTER FOR THE LAST SPOTS BY APRIL 7!

[6-WEEK ONLINE CLASS]
LORENZO VITTURI: TRANSFORM AND BE TRANSFORMED: A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE STUDIO AND THE URBAN SPACE
THURSDAYS, APRIL 13 – MAY 18 + FRIDAY, MAY 19, 2023

In this course participants will be guided to engage with photography as a multidisciplinary process entering in new dialogues with sculpture, scenography and performance. In Lorenzo’s experience, every transformation process starts with matter so participants will be challenged to collect random/found materials to learn how to integrate them physically as an integral component of their visual storytelling.

This process will be used to enter into closer contact with the urban space itself, with participants investigating the complexity and richness of the different micro-cultural identities from their own neighbourhoods. The new works created by the participants will reflect Lorenzo’s unique approach to photography in their combining of layered visual outputs with ephemeral sculptures and installations.

SCHEDULE: Meets online on Thursdays, from 11am-2pm (New York), 8-11am (Los Angeles), 5-8pm (Venice, Italy) on the following days: April 13, 20, 27 + May 4 & 11 (Group Meetings) + for private one-on-one sessions (30 minutes per participant) to be scheduled on either Thursday, May 18 (Group A), or on Friday, May 19 (Group B). A list of materials to prepare, along with upload portfolio page links and Zoom classroom logins will be provided a week before the start of class.

STRUCTURE:  Group-based critiques/reviews, directed activities (assignment) + final one-on-one meeting.

Note: This program is limited to 12 participants only.
