Nicolas Blandin | Annecy, France

Short bio:
I am a self-taught photographer born in 1982 in the French Alps. I am passionate about visual storytelling and portraiture.

Why do you photograph on film?
Film photography is the best medium I have found to reach a certain level of engagement, warmth and intimacy. It also has to do with physicality, ideal aspect ratio and (re)discovery between the time a picture is made and the moment an image materializes.

What is your work about?
My work explores our relationship with the landscape and examines photography’s narrative power, emotional charge and ambiguity.
