MICHAEL FAMIGHETTI: “WORK, PROCESS & FORM”
WINTER ONLINE CLASS, JANUARY 9 – JANUARY 24, 2026
How does a photographer successfully develop a project and find a successful form for their work? This class will offer group evaluation and critique of individual students’ projects while exploring strategies on how to edit, sharpen, and present a body of work to an audience. Topics to be discussed include developing a concept, writing a project statement, photo editing, and the possibilities of form; Is my project a book, an installation, a magazine portfolio, a website, or? Each class will be divided into group discussion and critique of students work and will also include conversation about the mechanics of publishing.
Class structure:
4 group sessions + 1 individual meeting: Artist-led lectures and group reviews/conversations plus one-on-one meetings (30 minutes per participant)
A list of materials to prepare, along with upload portfolio page links and Zoom classroom logins will be provided a week before the start of class.
