DANNY LYON & SPECIAL GUEST BRYAN SCHUTMATT:
“THE BIKERIDERS” SEMINAR
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8, 2024, PARIS FRANCE
Take an integral dive into the world of “The Bikeriders”, from Lyon’s original photographs, book, archives and audio recordings, to Jeff Nichols’ feature film and the “Vandals” book.
SEMINAR DETAILS
FotoFilmic is thrilled to offer an afternoon seminar led by iconic photographer Danny Lyon focused on his Bikeriders work.
The seminar will include a private screening of The Bikeriders movie (released to worldwide acclaimed this summer), followed by a lecture by Danny Lyon and a discussion with photographer Bryan Schutmaat.
The movie’s fascinating narrative was carefully molded around Lyon’s original late 1960s groundbreaking work and book, and his direct life experiences creating it.
Seminar participants will get the rare chance to take part in a series of post-screening conversations between Lyon, and Schutmaat, who magistrally documented the making of the movie to recreate uncannily character-accurate still narratives published into a new photography volume: “Vandals: The Photography of the Bikeriders”, also released just a few months ago.
The two artists, who know each other well, will flesh out their conversations on the lasting legacy of Lyon’s powerful seminal photography work by playing original audio recordings from his archive, and take live questions from the seminar audience. Participants will also have the opportunity to have their book copies of “The Bikeriders” and “Vandals” signed by the artists (NB: both books must be purchased in advance; for “The Bikeriders”, please also only bring new Aperture Edition copies).
