LAURA PANNACK: "INTIMATE PORTRAITURE: REFINING NARRATIVES & CONCEPTS IN THE LONG RUN"

CLASS FILLED. REGISTRATIONS ARE CLOSED.

ONLINE MASTERCLASS WITH LAURA PANNACK
“INTIMATE PORTRAITURE: REFINING NARRATIVES & CONCEPTS IN THE LONG RUN” APRIL 15 – MAY 27, 2021

In this masterclass we will aim through a series of small group meetings to identify how key portraiture narrative ideas and concepts can evolve over time. This will be an opportunity to reflect on the work you’ve been making thus far, and to develop new strategies to ignite your artistic growth and encourage experimentation outside of your comfort zone.
For this we will discuss in depth the main concepts, approaches and visual outcomes of your work, as well as take the time to research new inspiration sources to identify untapped potential and provide fresh new directions to explore. Portraiture will obviously be a key focus, and the complex set of relationships one builds with subjects will also be quite central to our class, but not exclusively so: photographers engaged with other forms of practice are also welcome to join in, as there is in fact no prerequisite at all to participate.
Our virtual classroom will be a supportive, inclusive and safe space for all to soundboard ideas, motivate each other and push our practice to the next level. We will be looking at how to best utilize the restrictions of remote learning rather than let us be limited by them.
Participants will be encouraged to complete weekly tasks and keep sketchbooks throughout the entire process. Finally while the bulk of the class will revolve around good group dynamics, there will also be the opportunity for you to work 1:1 with me at the end of class.
