JRNL 5 SUMMER 2020

GUEST EDITED BY ELISA MEDDE (FOAM MAGAZINE)

JRNL 5 SUMMER 2020 ISSUE

A child of the pandemic from its open call in March and April, to the entire jurying phase and up to today’s winners announcement, JRNL 5 has been THE project that allowed our artistic spirit to plow on through this difficult, transformative year 2020. With such a dramatic cascade of exceptional events sewn into our current collective moment, expectations run especially high for this issue of JRNL to showcase innovative and authentic photography giving voice to that new generation of analogue talent living in the front row of today’s global, pressing issues. It is thus with great pleasure that we congratulate Elisa’s 12 final photographers coming from 9 countries, we couldn’t be prouder of such inspiring, boundary-breaking curatorial vision and very much look forward to mailing these special JRNL 5 pages around the world in a few weeks! We also want to acknowledge the many, many other amazing works we couldn’t find room for in this upcoming summer 2020 issue: please know you met ours and Elisa’s eyes and interest, and we hope to have the chance to support you as well in future editions. Lastly, please also stay tuned later this month as we award the JRNL 5 Covers to 1 of today’s 12 photographers!
