ALEX WEBB & REBECCA NORRIS WEBB: ‘FINDING YOUR VISION’ WORKSHOP

Alex Webb & Rebecca Norris Webb with their students on Bowen Island, Saturday May 19 – The editing intensive ‘Finding Your Vision’ workshop included individual reviews of at least 50 prints per photographer and a directed assignment for the second day. Participants came from as far as Adelaide, Australia, Montreal, and all corners of the US for chance to work with Alex and Rebecca in Vancouver. This was their first visit to Vancity since 1971!
“Together And Apart” public presentation and book signing event at the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver, Saturday May 19, 7-9 pm – FotoFilmic was most pleased to collaborate with Vancouver’s leading photography space to offer the community at large the opportunity to connect in person to Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb’s highly intertwined works and book publications. The event was a huge success with a full house in attendance and many leaving with the unique memorabilia of a signed book to bring home.

Hosted at the FotoFilmic PULP Gallery nestled in Snug Cove workshop participants enjoyed a private exhibition closing reception with SOLO IV Award Winner Ryota Kajita (Fairbanks, AK, USA) and jurors Alex Webb & Rebecca Norris Webb.

Todd Hido on Saturday, October 14 morning talking about the fundamental influences and experiences behind his work and its complex transition into the book form. Participants were also treated to some of Hido’s newest work including never seen before portraits.

Reviews went on through the next day Sunday, October 15 and concluded with Hido sharing a wealth of advices and sound strategies to get work noticed and published.
